Chilly again..

No not the plants - yes the weather.

Anyway, puns aside, the weather has been warmer than average and wet of late. However, we have had 2 days of quite cold days and -3°C nights (heavy frost good for killing snail eggs in soil).

I have been back in training down the gym this week - arms are very sore - so unless things improve tomorrow then I will probably miss out on some digging this weekend.

We will see....

No lotty action this weekend

Despite being quite mild for this time of year, too much rain meant it wasn't worth going down for a dig.

Nevermind, as you can see for the sowing/planting grid, nothing much is due to happen until the middle of February.

Here's to counting off the days.

Happy New Year!

Well after the coldest year for 25 years and the coldest December for 120 years - I wonder what 2011 will bring.

Here's to the future!!!

24 December 2010

Flippin heck it's cold!

Well I am flabberghasted!! It is soooo cold. How cold, well this December could be one of the coldest Decembers since the 1650s. WOW!!

This evening we are expecting a low of minus 14!! So I think come tomorrow morning (Xmas day) I will need to pop down to lotty to say merry xmas and take a few photos of a very cold lotty.

These are exceptional times - not seen since early 1980s!
