It Rained!!!

Amazing a day off and it actually rained. OK, a bit weird to say, but for the past 3 months we have had only 25% of normal rainfall and Merseyside has a hose-pipe ban from today.

Bad News!
Cauliflowers got club root virus - so had to pull and destroy. Also, the wind we've been getting has ripped the middle of my greenhouse roof - so have done a temp mend until wind dies down a bit.

Harvested Today:
  • Leeks
  • Garlic
  • Peas
Next to Harvest:
  • Gooseberries
  • Blueberries
  • Turnips
  • Main Onion crop
Planted the Brussel Sprouts and remaining Squashes.

Other Jobs Done
  • Rearranged my shed

Finally a Tomato!!!

Well I will be away from lotty for a few days, so did a major watering last night and will have to let some soft fruit spoil - hope the courgettes don't get too massive!!

After the driest start to a year for decades and some pretty warm temps. we will be in for heavy showers, cloudy days but still some heat - so I expect a growth spurt whilst I am away.

When I'm back - hopefully tatty-time (potatoes!) and maybe the onions - although bit worried about the cauliflowers as they might have club root, bum!!!
